Our crew animated Wolfthorn in Adobe Animate and composited in After Effects. Wieden+Kennedy gave us the song and we timed our animation to it, hitting cuts on beats for maximum radness. We really wanted to pay tribute to low-fi 90s cartoons with color banding FX and VHS tape tracking, but still keep it crisp, and HD. We had a lot of fun working on this and can’t wait to team up again for more awesome campaigns.

Dikembe Mutombo’s 4½ Weeks to Save the World

Projects that win the types of awards and accolades that this project won always begin with impossible goals. This interactive web campaign involved several teams: Driftlab, Adam Atomic, Powerhouse Animation and Wieden+Kennedy. We wanted to create a new game that used current events featured in cinemas, on a one week timeline. That’s right, we would get scripts on a Tuesday and through the teams’ hard work, a game would get released on the following Sunday. Millions would play and try to help save the world.

This project was a blast, not only did we get to concept design and character design this 16-bit world, but we also did the voiceover work on the animated and interactive advertising campaign. Our own Jason Williams is Science the Bear. Have you seen the one where we got to animate DMX as a bear, doing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer at a funeral? Yeah that happened. This project will go down in Powerhouse Animation history as one of the most successful, exhausting, fun and creative jobs we ever got to work on.
